On behalf of Dawn, we would like to thank our devoted listeners for their support and on behalf of 99.7FM we wish Dawn all the very best.

The Federal budget did not provide for any further funding for digital community broadcasting, for the foreseaable future.

99.7 FM is not (yet) a digital broadcaster, however this is something we had been investigating as a viable proposition. We believe that being in a position to offer a digital transmission to our listeners would a great benefit to our community however the costs associated with initiating and maintaining digital delivery is high. With rumours of Analogue radio services being phased-out (as has TV) - all radio stations will be forced to switch to digital. As Community Broadcasters rely solely upon revenue raised by memberships, donations, sponsorships and Government funding - how will Community Radio survive?

Federal Communications Minister, Stephen Conroy believes that Community Broadcasters should be wholly self-funded and not at all reliant upon the Government for any funding. Minister Conroy would effectively deny Community Broadcasters a future; would deny our communities the valuable and essential resource to be found in Community Radio.
