Rugby League 2018 Commonwealth Championships

The world is coming to Moreton Bay for the 2018 Rugby League Commonwealth Championships.

The Rugby League 9’s tournament will be held at Dolphin Stadium on 23 and 24 February 2018, in the lead-up to the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.

The Championships will showcase 10 Commonwealth nations including Australia, England, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Samoa and Tonga.

Snapshot: 2018 Rugby League Commonwealth Championships:
– Friday 23 and Saturday 24 February
– 9-a-side tournament featuring ten Commonwealth nations including; Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Wales, Canada, Samoa, England, Scotland, Tonga and Cook Islands.
– Men’s Under 23’s teams
– Open women’s teams
– Physical disabilities teams (Australia, New Zealand and World All-Stars)

    Moreton Bay Regional Council’s starlight cinema is coming to Brennan Park for the Bongaree Movie in the Park on Saturday, 24 February.

    Running 5.00pm to 8.15pm there will be plenty of family fun with roving entertainment, live music, a jumping castle, face painting and children’s activities before a special starlight movie screening of The Boss Baby [PG].

    There will also be a sausage sizzle, popcorn, fairy floss, and snow cones available to purchase with all proceeds going to local community groups.

    Remember to bring a blanket or folding chair and sit back and enjoy a Hollywood block buster in your local park.

    Bongaree Movie in the Park is a free event proudly presented by Moreton Bay Regional Council and proudly supported by Councillor Brooke Savige.

    On the first Saturday of every month in 2018 (Feb - Dec) The Scarborough Originals are to be held in Jamieson Park, on the Redcliffe Peninsula.

    4 Original bands, emerging, touring, established acts with original content. Performing on a grass roots stage to a park full of music lovers of all ages.

    The event is funded through the community and their contribution. Mon Komo Hotel and The East Coast Originals present the event and local businesses and groups support through donations and prize contributions. Your purchases of raffle tickets funds each event held by the not for profit - The East Coast Originals.

    The event is family friendly and all ages. There is a sausage sizzle available, face painting, a range of live art and music and is essentially free to attend. Your contribution is necessary to fund the event, whether it be $5 or $20 or a helping hand to set up or pack down. Together, as a community, we create this event to support the arts, music and cultural scene of our community.

    Held on the first Saturday of every month, 1 - 5pm at Jamieson Park, Reef Point Parade, Scarborough.
